Privacy Policy

Summary

Overthink stores the text you choose to untangle, the AI-generated breakdown of that text, your email, and your mood check-ins. We do not sell your data. We do not use it to train AI models. We do not collect anything we do not need to operate the product.

Information we collect

Account. When you sign up we store your email address and a securely hashed password (via Supabase Auth).

Content you create. Every breakdown you choose to save and the mood check-ins you attach to it. Each entry is stored under your account and is protected by row-level access controls so only you can read it.

Device-only preferences. Whether you've completed onboarding, your haptics setting, and your reminder schedule.

What we do not collect. Contacts, location, advertising identifiers, precise device identifiers, browsing history, or biometric data.

What we send to third parties

When you tap "Untangle it" the text you wrote is sent to OpenAI through our backend Edge Function so the model can generate a breakdown. OpenAI processes the text according to its API data usage policy and does not use it to train future models. We do not send your email, account id, or any other identifier with the request.

When crisis-related language is detected on-device, the text is NOT sent to OpenAI and is NOT saved. We do not log or retain anything about that event other than that the safety screen was shown.

Where your data lives

Your account and content are stored with Supabase. Row Level Security policies guarantee that no other user can read, modify, or delete your rows.

Your controls

You can delete an individual breakdown from the History or Results screen at any time. You can clear all of your data, or fully delete your account, from Settings. You can export everything we have about you as JSON from Settings → Export my data.

Children

Overthink is not intended for users under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove the account and its data.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will note the new effective date at the top of this page and surface the change in-app. Your continued use after a change indicates acceptance.
